Abstract

The research aim to determine effect of keben fruit extract can be used as an anesthetic for Sea bass and knowing concentration of keben fruit extract in stunning process which gave highest survival of Sea bass seeds. Experimental method was used in this research with completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments of doses : 0 mg / l; 5 mg / l; 10mg / l; 15 mg / l and 20 mg / l with 3 replications. Data were analyzed use variance analysis, first normality and homogeneity variety of data were carried out and to find out the differences in effects between treatments with Tukey test. Variables observed are survival of Sea bass seeds and water quality. Results showed that the usage of keben fruit extract with different dosage differences asfish anesthesia had a very significant effect on survival of Sea bass (Lates calcarifer). Optimum dose for survival of Sea bass with the usage of keben fruit extract is 5 mg/l by 94%. Quality of water measured during the study is temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen (DO). Temperatures range from 26-26.5˚C, pH ranges from 6.78-7.20; Dissolved oxygen (DO) ranges from 5.55 - 6.95.
